Responsibilities
Serves as manager in the absence of the Branch Manager and directs, plans, and coordinates branch office activities.
Performs and assists with audits of offices and associated entities under enforcement areas.
Conducts office meetings, training sessions, and advises staff on policies and procedures.
Provides oversight for knowledge and skills testing programs and examiner utilization.
Registers applicants for motor voter and/or selective service as required.
Reconciles daily activity reports, approves refund requests, and secures audited documents and monies.
Assists in bank deposits, equipment maintenance, and administers knowledge tests.
Supervises personnel matters, including hiring, appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
Monitors career programs, counsels employees, and ensures HR requirements are met.
Trains office personnel on DMV transactions and procedures.
Performs other duties as required.

Required
A high school diploma and relevant program experience
Knowledge of the principles, policies, and procedures of the DMV
Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license with a good driving record
Computer skills required to perform job functions
Before being certified to administer CDL knowledge skill tests must complete a formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination
Ability to communicate effectively, multi-task, collect fees and train other employees
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public
Successfully certified to administer all classifications of road testing
Reports directly to the Branch Manager
Capable of working independently, guiding others in their work schedules, and communicating with manager on significant issues
Must be able to make decisions that are in the best interest of the agency to provide the highest level of customer service
Inside tasks are performed in climate-controlled office environment, exposure to extreme temperatures for road tests
Physical skills include lifting to 50 lbs., reaching, standing, sitting, and climbing
Must attend required training, meetings, or workshops
This is an exempt position and may require you to work outside the normal hours of operation to meet job demands
Preferred
A high school diploma and six years of responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience
Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprints
