Responsibilities
Prepares the details of project plans, estimates, calculate quantities, and prepare specifications, reports, and exhibits as assigned and directed
Works closely with CAD drafters on the preparation of detailed plans
Provides QC support by following the appropriate procedures as outlined
Provide technical and field support during construction phase as necessary
Reviews and use design manuals, agency standards and procedures
Assists in preparing plans using current engineering drafting software (Auto CADD or MicroStation)
Prepare calculations using current engineering design software (SAP 2000, VBridge, VBent, WinABUD, Xtract, etc…)
Prepares detailed design and quantity calculations in a clear and organized manner
Conveys technical information utilizing clear verbal and written skills

Required
BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, concentration in structures strongly preferred, but not required
0-2+ years progressive experience, relevant intern experience a plus
Working knowledge of MS Office, including MS Word and MS Excel
Working knowledge of Auto CADD or MicroStation
Basic knowledge of general engineering principals, statics, dynamics of structures and general engineering design
Ability to work on multiple tasks
Demonstrate effective written and verbal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time to maximize efficiency
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
Preferred
EIT certification strongly preferred, but not required
Working knowledge of SAP 2000, VBridge, VBent, WinABUD, XTRACT or similar design programs a plus
Basic knowledge of structural design for reinforced concrete, basic knowledge of structural design for steel, timber, and masonry a plus
