Responsibilities
Develop and maintain high-quality relationships with potential government customers and industry partners to enhance business development opportunities.
Ability to establish rapport and trust with senior government officials, military leaders, and industry partners.
Skilled at understanding customer needs, aligning solutions with their goals, and positioning the company as a trusted partner.
Strong presentation abilities, including the capacity to deliver clear, compelling briefings to executive leadership and potential customers.
Experience with negotiating contracts and managing customer expectations, ensuring both customer satisfaction and company profitability.
Proactively identify potential business opportunities 18-24 months in advance, ensuring the company is positioned for future growth.
Qualify potential business opportunities based on winnability and desirability, ensuring alignment with company strengths and capabilities.
Lead or assist with business capture activities, including the development and execution of call plans, win themes, win strategies, and proposal writing.
Develop and maintain a high-quality business pipeline for input into business and resource forecasting.
Serve as the reliable voice of the customer in capture and proposal activities, ensuring that customer needs and requirements are accurately addressed.

Required
5-10 years of business development experience in the defense sector, specifically with a proven track record of prosecuting and winning defense IT support contracts exceeding $25M
At least 5 years of proposal development experience, including hands-on involvement in preparing and submitting proposals
Strong understanding of the Shipley capture process and proven ability to apply it effectively
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with senior military officers and senior civilian executives both orally and in writing
Ability to assess and qualify business opportunities, as well as develop win strategies that align with customer needs and organizational objectives
Previous experience working within the defense IT support industry
Familiarity with government contracting regulations and processes
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
