Responsibilities
Gather and analyze business requirements for healthcare data exchange systems, ensuring compliance with FHIR/HL7 and CMS-0057 standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including healthcare providers, IT professionals, and subject matter experts, to understand and translate business needs into technical specifications.
Understand the desired outcome for API integration and be able to validate the design for the API and all its pieces based on discovery with the system of record.
Perform technical mapping of data from system of record format to the API format.
Design and document system architecture, data models, and integration workflows that facilitate seamless data exchange between source systems and FHIR Mappings using Edifecs X-Engine or other relevant tools.
Participate in the development and implementation of FHIR-based APIs and interfaces for patient data access, in accordance with CMS-0057 regulations.
Work with members of the scrum team from Development and QA to answer questions and clarify requirements.
Develop test plans and participate in system testing, ensuring the quality and compliance of data exchange solutions.
Investigate and resolve any issues related to data quality.
Ensure that our delivery framework artifacts are created correctly and have the necessary traceability.

Required
5+ years of experience working within clinical data, specifically working within FHIR/HL7 standards for healthcare data exchange.
Experience utilizing Edifecs tools for healthcare data interchange processes.
In depth knowledge of CMS-0057 (interoperability and Patient access) regulations and their impact on healthcare data exchange systems.
Good understanding of Data warehousing combined with experience in dealing with web service (APIs) for consumption of data.
Clinical data expert (specifically ADT, EMR, related clinical data) as well as OMOP, FHIR and clinical specific models/ technologies.
Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and security regulations, such as HIPAA.
Experience with data mapping and data modeling.
Strong SQL experience and experience working in a data warehousing good understanding of Star-schema, dimensional model, etc.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in large project implementations.
