Responsibilities

Develops and checks less experienced engineers to solve design issues.

Provide guidance on corrective measures to address issues in drawings.

Manages several different assignments simultaneously.

Act as field resource to assist construction in the field on medium to complex issues.

Provides technical knowledge and guidance for standards and design to less experienced designers.

Creates innovative working methods to generate new ideas.

Uses resources to identify new solutions and finds best cost solutions.

Proactively reviews and suggests alternate solutions to improve communication on drawings between departments.

Identities changes in scope of work during large projects and produces drawing changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule.

Serves as resource to less experienced designers to convey intent and application of procedures and industry standards to produce quality deliverables.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.

5 years of relevant experience supporting heavy civil infrastructure construction projects.

Experience leading a small team to complete tasks/designs on a project.

Ability to work successfully both independently and while collaborating with internal/external parties.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and involve others when solving problems.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal presentations, successfully conveying messages and ideas.

Regular, reliable attendance

Work productively and meet deadlines timely

Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.

Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
