Responsibilities
Use CADD software for the preparation of roadway plans, including cutting sheets and preparing roadway details
Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings based on detailed sketches and redline/markups provided by designers and engineers
Work on multiple assignments simultaneously
Prepare preliminary and final CADD construction drawings for various projects
Prepare right-of-way, planning, or other technical drawings
Lead project CADD support efforts under the direction of the engineer in charge
Perform basic geometry and quantity calculations
Review others’ work and quality checks
Support/advance CADD models for civil and buildings
Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, cost estimates, and other contract documentation
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
Complete training on assigned tasks
Perform other duties as assigned

Required
2-year associate degree in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting or equivalent
3+ years of experience with CADD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
Experience working with Bentley/MicroStation InRoads is a plus
Experience working on the preparation of plans on transportation projects is a plus
Attention to detail
Self-motivated
Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
Strong organizational skills
Team player; capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
Preferred
Actively enrolled in or graduated from an accredited college/Technical School for CADD, or related program
Experience with Bentley OpenRoads/Open Bridge Modeler/CONNECT
Demonstrated interest in CADD software development, BIM, or related field with a strong desire to advance skills related to IEA’s work, industry improvements, and project needs
Experience in engineering discipline
Aptitude for problem-solving, including ability to gather, organize and interpret data
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) experience
Ability to work independently with direction from supervisor and engineers
Ability to work collaboratively on a team
Professional demeanor and effective interpersonal skills
