Responsibilities

Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.

Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.

Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.

Gather and maintain record documents.

Make field notes and computations.

Engineering or Engineering Technology degree

Engineering intern classification requires an EI certification

Ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one year

CTQP Final Estimates Level I

CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I

CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I

CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I

CTQP Pile Driving Inspection

CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign, lighting, and traffic signal structure foundations)

IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I

FDOT Intermediate MOT

Nuclear Radiation Safety

Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors

Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)

Receiving general supervision from and assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties
