Responsibilities
Engineer detailed, often complex, technical instructions for new and existing technologies; specify and order equipment/cables/hardware.
Coordinate/project manage project specific installation designs and physical installations.
Engineer/manage database updates, equipment configurations, card/port assignments/requirements, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).
Interface with Operations and other Implementation organizations to obtain critical pre-engineering information, site specific data as well as redlines and other end of job information.
Ensure that all engineering documentation is accurate and up to date for use by Install, Test, Implementation, Operations, Provisioning, Planning, Network Capacity Management, and Audit groups.

Required
5 or more years’ experience in telecom equipment engineering or installation.
Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated, work independently, customer focused with organizational and leadership skills to manage projects through completion
Knowledge of the layout of a Telecom Central Office
Understanding of telecom networks and related equipment
Knowledge of DC power systems, cable sizing and equipment requirements
Understanding of support structure, cable racking, fiber trough etc.
Demonstrated skill in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge and ability to utilize CAD systems, Draftsight/COVango
Experience with Frontier/Ziply Engineering systems such as Infinium, M6, Varasset, is required
