Responsibilities
Manage firmwide lateral partner hiring efforts by working with the Chief Development Officer and Managing Partner - External Affairs to develop and implement strategies to source, recruit and hire lateral partner candidates in line with strategic objectives.
Collaborate with department leadership to guide candidates through the firm’s recruiting process, including managing the scheduling and coordination of interviews (in-office and virtual) for lateral partner candidates.
Manage the background check and reference verification process.
Oversee all administrative aspects of lateral partner hiring, including due diligence completion, conflicts, and background checks, offer correspondence, and pipeline updates. Ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
Serve as one of the primary points of contact for candidates and external search firms throughout the lateral partner hiring process and ensure a seamless and efficient recruitment experience for candidates
Ensure that the firm’s lists of preferred search firms and search firm agreements are all up to date.
Track and maintain accurate recruiting data and metrics and prepare reports and analysis on hiring trends; and manage the firm’s database of lateral partner candidates.
Draft or author professional correspondence related to lateral partner recruitment, interview requests, including search firm communications and candidate evaluations.
Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding through the Lateral Partner Integration Administrative Team (LPAT).
Liaise with relevant members of the LPAT and Ad-Hoc members as well as members of administrative departments to provide regular updates on hiring statistics and active candidates in the pipeline. Ensure effective communication and coordination with the LPAC, as well as with firm leadership.
Process all applications and introductions of partner candidates, whether direct or through search firms, and ensure that all materials are distributed in a timely fashion to those at the firm involved in each candidate’s recruiting process.
Work collaboratively with internal departments (e.g., Conflicts, Accounting, Talent, and Business Development) to ensure alignment on hiring initiatives.
Ensure that conflicts questionnaires are distributed to partner candidates, completed and returned to the firm, and collaborate with the Conflicts team to facilitate the timely processing of the conflicts information provided.
Contribute to special projects and initiatives that enhance the Firm’s growth and recruitment strategies.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, especially the use of technology, within the partner hiring framework to increase efficiency within the process.
Ensure all recruitment activities are executed with the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and efficiency.
Supervise the activities and development of the partner hiring assistant(s), which includes delegating work, and providing direction, support and guidance as needed.

Required
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or a related field.
5 + years of partner hiring experience in a mid-to-large Am Law 100 firm required.
1 + year of prior management experience a plus.
This role is fully remote and must reside in a commutable distance to the local applicable office.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys and staff.
Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Reliability, flexibility, and adaptability in a team and service-oriented environment.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a time-sensitive environment while maintaining the highest standards of work quality.
Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, including prioritizing numerous tasks and completing them under time constraints.
Ability to identify and accomplish long and short-term goals, projects, and activities.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Smart Sheet.
Advanced experience with applicant tracking systems (e.g., viDesktop).
Ability and confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions and initiate actions/solutions.
Ability to be able to respond to unexpected challenges, including proactively developing innovative solutions to complex problems while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Ability to maintain composure and demonstrate good judgment.
Maintains confidentiality and exhibits sound judgment in all interactions.
Upholds the firm’s standards of quality, reliability, and professionalism.
