Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with GCRI’s global priorities and regional initiatives.
Oversee the creation and management of budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and efficient allocation of financial resources.
Lead long-term financial planning to support GCRI’s growth and sustainability objectives.
Manage all financial aspects of GCRI’s regional operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance with international financial regulations.
Develop and execute strategies for fundraising, grants, and other revenue streams to ensure financial stability.
Implement effective cost control measures to optimize expenditure without compromising on program quality.
Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with GCRI’s operations and initiatives.
Ensure adherence to all financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across regional offices.
Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard GCRI’s assets and financial integrity.
Forge and maintain relationships with donors, financial institutions, and strategic partners to secure funding and financial support.
Provide transparent and comprehensive financial reports to stakeholders, including the UN, World Bank, IMF, and Santiago Network.
Advocate for GCRI’s financial needs and initiatives with policymakers, funding agencies, and regional leaders.
Lead and develop a high-performing financial team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Work closely with other executive leaders to integrate financial strategies with overall organizational goals.
Promote ongoing training and development opportunities for the finance team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with NWGs to align financial strategies with localized needs and global objectives.
Partner with Regional Stewardship Boards to ensure financial strategies support regional initiatives and collaborative governance.

Required
Senior financial leadership roles within international organizations, preferably in sustainability, governance, or innovation-focused sectors.
Demonstrated success in financial planning, budgeting, resource mobilization, and managing complex financial operations.
In-depth knowledge of global financial management, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks.
Strong understanding of international financial frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and financial aspects of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a talent for inspiring and managing diverse financial teams.
Preferred
Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are highly desirable.
