Responsibilities
Provides direct supervision to the staff in the immediate Office of the Director, BIA.
Provides oversight on the administrative processes and procedures utilized for effective work flow frequently involving highly sensitive and confidential assignments.
Interacts routinely with members of Congress, Congressional Committees and their staff, other departments of the Federal Government, Tribal leadership groups and key Bureau management.
Plans and conducts complex qualitative and quantitative analytical studies involving bureau-wide functional/programmatic areas of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Coordinates or leads special investigations, studies or projects involving bureau-wide or government-wide concerns involving topics, such as, land consolidation, water rights, land economic development, etc.
Serves as the principal advisor to the Director, BIA, on administrative and financial management matters associated with programs and operations.
Translates major, complex executive determinations into substantive policy issuances, programs, practices, plans of actions, etc., to achieve actual results desired as a consequence of such decisions.

Will be required to file an OGE-450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report Form in accordance with 5 CFR Part 2634, Subpart I.
One (1) year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). Specialized experience would include performing the following: 1) Provided advisory services to senior leadership involving an array of highly confidential and sensitive management issues; 2) Performed complex analytical studies involving Indian programs and issues; 3) Performed financial management duties in order to provide oversight of administrative matters and operations; and 4) Extensive research and experience of the policies and procedures of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, sufficient to perform independently and on the behalf of the Bureau Director.
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
