Responsibilities

Designs, schedules, and oversees construction of green stormwater infrastructure projects; develops scopes of work and cost estimates for projects while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Represents the City of Atlanta as the owner's representative for construction projects, responding to inquiries about environmental and stormwater regulations.

Mitigates risks by enforcing quality requirements, providing technical guidance, and managing design projects.

Provides design services to support operational activities of various City offices.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

2 years of design experience

Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction

Intimate experience in stormwater management design

Knowledge of surveying, engineering, and construction methods

Knowledge of planning, engineering design, and project management

Skilled in software for creating reports, spreadsheets, presentations, proposals, and other documents

Skilled in preparing effective oral and written communication

Skilled in AutoCAD design software

Skilled in reading, interpreting, and producing legal documents

Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships

Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to work independently when required

Preferred

Master’s degree in civil engineering or related area

Knowledge in stormwater design including green infrastructure practices

Strong knowledge of CAD software and drafting procedures

Excellent prioritization and project development skills

Eligible for Engineer in Training (EIT) license
