Responsibilities
ITS is responsible for the daily management of the ITS Comprehensive Maintenance Contract, which requires the initiation, review, and execution of work orders and task orders.
Monitor data inputs from NaviGAtor and other traffic operations software packages to determine system performance and deploy maintenance forces as needed.
Provide customer service for ramp meter, variable speed limit sign, and changeable message sign complaints received through 511.
Manage 2 engineers as well as consultants and contractors.
Serve as an active member of the Configuration Control Board overseeing changes and modifications to the Georgia NaviGAtor System.

Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology, engineering with a civil specialization, construction engineering or other engineering/engineering technology field of study and two (2) years of job-related experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) License; or Professional Engineer (PE) License with two (2) years of job-related experience.
Foreign degrees require a completed Equivalency Evaluation by NCEES along with the official transcript
Georgia PE license required or the ability to get one within six months of hire date
Advanced level experience in applying traffic engineering principles, practices, and techniques in traffic signal and ITS design.
Demonstrated experience in utilizing traffic analysis software AND traffic signal operational software.
Knowledge of design, installation and maintenance specifications.
Basic understanding of applicable geometric and trigonometric formulas.
Demonstrated experience planning, supervising, training and evaluating the work of subordinates and promoting a positive environment.
Demonstrated experience in contract and consultant management.
Demonstrated ability to develop new methods and procedures where existing methods are inapplicable or unavailable.
Demonstrated ability to apply new knowledge and skills to work to improve efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, managers, and/or local government staff in a professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to make sound, well-informed decisions.
Ability to present an idea or project in a public meeting format.
Demonstrates ability to negotiate with others to find mutually acceptable solutions.
Ability to motivate and promote teamwork.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Strong customer orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to perform routine statewide travel with overnight stays
Preferred
Demonstrates an understanding of the department's organizational structure, policies and systems and how to operate effectively within them.
Advanced knowledge of design, installation and maintenance specifications.
Demonstrated experience in establishing and conducting training programs.
Experience applying engineering principles in the development of traffic control plans for transportation projects.
