Responsibilities

Knowledge of DoS guide specifications, criteria and policy, industry codes and standards, and standard practices as related to structural engineering design including the International Building Code, ASCE 7 (Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures), and Whole Building Design Guide.
Applying theories, concepts, principles and practices of structural engineering for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of a wide range of engineering projects.
Preparation of design analyses and calculations for structural projects and the preparation of final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types for multi-discipline and/or structural engineering projects.
Knowledge of local, state, federal, and foreign country laws, codes, and other statutory requirements affecting structural engineering design throughout the area of responsibility.
Evaluation and analysis of records associated with construction activities.
Experience with the use of AutoCAD, structural design/analysis software, and Microsoft Office products is required.

Required

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.
The required skills shall include a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Shall be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing long periods of time.
Experience with the use of AutoCAD, structural design/analysis software, and Microsoft Office products is required.
