Responsibilities
Assist in responding to requests related to the City’s water, wastewater, drainage, and roadway infrastructure.
Provide information to the public concerning engineering requirements, utilities, development regulations, etc.
Perform detailed engineering calculations.
Assist in the development and maintenance of construction details and technical specifications.
Review civil construction plans and technical specifications for compliance with City requirements.
Review development applications for compliance with City codes and ordinances.
Assist in evaluating the capacity of the City’s infrastructure systems.
Prepare drawings, maps, and exhibits using computerized software programs.
Oversee project progress from concept to construction and warranty.
Prepare estimates of quantities and costs.
Conduct field inspections of construction projects.
Review and recommend approval of contractor payment applications.
Coordinate with other divisions, departments, or agencies on projects.
Conduct public meetings and various public relations tasks.
Prepare and present information verbally and in writing to relevant bodies and organizations.
Assist in the development, design, and management of capital improvement plans and construction projects.
Fulfill related duties and responsibilities as required.

Required
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Valid Texas Driver’s License, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Preferred
One year of engineering experience (postgraduate) preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
