Responsibilities
Review, analyze and adjudicate claims for deferred annuities, to include qualified, nonqualified retirement plans and employer-sponsored plans.
Handling claims according to final orders and requisition the release of proceeds accordingly, adhering to appropriate state statutes regarding timeliness, interest and contractual statues.
Advising of claims status and responding to customer inquiries, communicating claims decisions to insureds, beneficiaries, executors, trustees and other interested parties. Working with attorneys in situations regarding divorce, trust and estate administration, and beneficiary disputes. Communicating with agents, funeral homes and financial advisors. Reaching out to beneficiaries regarding outstanding requirements in an attempt to avoid unclaimed property issues.
Working with Customer Service, Accounting, and Finance to appropriately manage claims and ensure that reporting and financial requirements are met.

Required
1 year of insurance-related experience or equivalent.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Able to learn quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proven customer service orientation, attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
Comfortable doing basic mathematical calculations.
Independent judgment and decision-making abilities.
Strong planning, organizational and follow-up skills.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Self-starter, motivated.
Preferred
College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Previous insurance experience with reading and interpreting insurance/legal contracts a plus.
Prior claims, customer service, underwriting, compliance experience preferred.
