Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and scale a self-service production Kubernetes cluster to run machine learning workloads in the cloud
Help develop and execute the cloud roadmap in-line with industry best practices
Work closely with internal users and customers to understand technical requirements
Apply and improve cloud engineering best practices and standards
Implement and maintain observability tooling to support workloads in various cloud environments

Required
Experience running a production Kubernetes cluster, preferably to support machine learning workloads
Experience using Helm, Terraform, Ansible and Packer as versioned infrastructure-as-code tools
Experience using public cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure and GCP, from strategic architectural thinking to hands-on implementation
Experience architecting and building high-performance compute clusters in the cloud
Experience with containerisation through Docker or Podman
An understanding of cloud networking and identity and access management best practices
An understanding of observability, including metrics, traces and logs, and the use of open-source tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, and OpenTelemetry to support observability
An understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including secure-by-design cloud architectures, and secure multi-tenancy in the cloud
Preferred
Preferably, familiarity with hybrid software and hardware deployments between on-premise and cloud environments
Preferably, familiarity with one or more programming or scripting languages, such as Golang, Python, Bash, etc.
