Responsibilities
Writes ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, extracts data from APIs, designs database systems, and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing using Python and AWS technologies.
Re-platforms existing data processes to scalable Cloud services and processes, collaborating with different teams to collect and analyze diverse datasets supporting business decisions.
Writes complex ad hoc queries using Python/SQL, participates in solution development phases, and translates technical specifications into code for new or enhancement projects.
Elevates code into development, test, and Production environments on schedule, participates in design, code, and test inspections, and performs unit testing to ensure requirements are satisfied.
Develops an understanding of client business functions, Vanguard's tools, technologies, and interfaces with cross-functional teams including Data Analysts, Scientists, and Developers.

Required
Python programming skills
Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and ability to leverage the cloud
SQL proficiency
Data visualization skills
Experience in writing ETL processes
Experience in extracting data from APIs
Designing database systems
Developing tools for real-time and offline analytic processing using Python and AWS technologies
Re-platforming existing data processes to scalable Cloud services
Mastery of data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Excel
Translating technical specifications and design models into code for new or enhancement projects
Participating in design, code, and test inspections throughout the lifecycle
Performing unit testing and writing appropriate unit test plans
Developing understanding of client business functions and technology needs
Compliance with IT policies and procedures
Understanding and adhering to Vanguard's Diversity mission and policies
Preferred
Experience with Dashboard and Power BI
Knowledge of Excel
Experience in writing complex ad hoc queries using Python/SQL
Experience in developing AI/ML concepts
Experience with Big Data tools like Athena and Spark
Understanding of Data Lake concepts and architecture
Experience with 3rd Party API integrations
Experience with Java and R programming languages
