Responsibilities
Design and implement security frameworks and solutions for cloud-based systems, services, and applications. Ensure the application of best practices for securing cloud infrastructures, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security, and vulnerability management.
Perform cloud risk assessments and threat modeling, identifying potential vulnerabilities and implementing security controls to mitigate risks. Conduct security audits, ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2), and establish reporting metrics for cloud security risks.
Develop, enforce, and update cloud security policies, standards, and guidelines to align with organizational security goals and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and other teams to ensure secure cloud adoption and deployments. Provide expert advice on cloud security during project planning, development, and deployment.
Respond to and investigate cloud security incidents, provide post-event analysis, and implement remediation steps. Identify root causes and offer guidance for future preventative measures.
Stay current on the latest cloud security trends, technologies, and threats. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to strengthen cloud security posture.
Lead initiatives for automating cloud security processes, including security monitoring, compliance reporting, and incident response workflows.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Experience in cybersecurity or cloud security, with at least 2 years focused specifically on cloud security architecture.
Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or similar.
Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including data encryption, network security, identity and access management (IAM), and threat detection.
Proficiency with security technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), anti-malware solutions, and SIEM platforms.
Required Security clearance.
Preferred
Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Security Specialty) is a plus.
Expertise in securing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud environments.
Experience with cloud-native security tools, such as AWS Shield, Azure Security Center, or GCP Security Command Center.
AWS Certified Security Specialty
Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
Federal Experience is a plus.
