Responsibilities
Develop specifications and utilize CAD/CAM software for programming
Draw sketches of parts to be fabricated
Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve issues
Study blueprints and determine dimensions and tolerances
Set controls to regulate machining factors
Select tools, accessories, and materials for production
Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions
Set up and operate machines for trial runs

High School Diploma
One year college program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
