Responsibilities

Work closely with Insulet’s Senior Plastics Engineers to understand and help improve current challenges, designs, processing, manufacturing, and automation molding cells.

Work hands on with lab equipment (Instron, Pressure Transducers, OGP, High Speed Camera, etc.) to aid Root Cause Analysis activities

Design test procedures, 3D printed fixtures, perform custom tests, and analyze data to support tool qualifications and design enhancements

Project Lead for at least one root causing / process improvement initiative

Improve internal processes (data analysis, work flow systems, etc.) by automating tasks and standardizing methods using applicable software skills (VBA, etc.)

Application of Six Sigma & Lean manufacturing concepts

Assist/Lead Engineering Change Orders to improve product design

Performs other duties as required.

Up to 5% Travel to local suppliers as needed

Required

Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate Plastics Engineering program

3.0 GPA or better

Physical Requirements: Lab Testing using relevant equipment

Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 40 lbs

This position requires on-site working (requires on-site office/plant/lab work)

Preferred

Mechanical aptitude / hands-on mentality

Familiar with statistical analysis

Experience with CAD software

Good documentation skills

Strong attention to detail
