Responsibilities

Work with the Communications and Community Affairs teams to research and develop new programs and communications plans.
Research answers to media inquiries and draft direct answers under supervision.
Monitor the 'media inbox', direct questions to appropriate team members, and archive material.
Plan, organize, coordinate, and administer specialized programs as assigned.
Compile and analyze information, perform research projects, and write well-researched copy for various materials.
Assist with video shoots, edit video material, preserve media files, and maintain contact lists.
Develop weekly team meeting agendas, take notes, and share with the team.
Work in a high-volume, fast-paced office environment.
Travel to various locations throughout Maricopa County.
Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver's License.
Ability to move up to 20 pounds.

Required

One year of experience working in an advertising or marketing agency, newsroom, or other position writing copy
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English or a related field
A combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Preferred

Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills
Exceptional social media skills that include analytics, content development, and posting
Excellent writing skills and experience in planning, executing, tracking, and evaluating plans or programs
