Responsibilities

Draft, edit, and proofread compelling content across social media platforms to engage followers and increase our visibility and reach; Manage schedule of releases
Monitor partner platforms to execute timely engagement (resharing and commenting)
Drive online engagement before, during, and after key events
Draft, edit, and proofread press releases, blogs, e-blasts, newsletters, and create award and publication submissions
Assist coordinating projects with PR firm(s)/Third-Party Vendors and Corporate Partners
Support developing and reviewing content and collateral to ensure brand values and messaging are incorporated
Support developing, regularly monitoring, and reporting on the results of communications plans and paid media plans
Assist managing media portfolios for Corporate Partners
Build rapport with partners through engaging and visually appealing marketing assets
Oversee website content and updates
Create and catalog Student Success Stories and other collateral
Help prepare speeches for events
Attend and support galas, golf outings, symposiums, & other events throughout the year (may include weekends and evenings)

Required

Authentic interest in the mission of Children of Fallen Patriots
Bachelor’s Degree required – degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in media relations and strategic communications
Knowledge of content creation, branding, design, and digital marketing concepts
Strong knowledge of digital media platforms and social media management
Disciplined, process oriented, and hands-on approach to work
Enthusiasm for collaborating and iterating with other Fallen Patriots personnel
Good team player; respond well to coaching
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities; Can think creatively and innovatively
Writes and edits well (and enjoys doing it!); Can capably deliver clear, concise messaging
Maintains excellent attention to detail

Preferred

Military Service affiliation preferrable – personal or through family members
Knowledge of Squarespace
Knowledge of Sprout Social
Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, X, Youtube
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Products, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Knowledge of Mailchimp
