Responsibilities

Uses social media to build and maintain relationships with members of the community.

Serves as a liaison between the organization and the public.

Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events to advance the mission and goals of the organization.

Organizes community outreach programs and coordinates special events that will influence public opinion or promote services, or ideas of the organization.

Uses social media to coordinate community relations.

Drafts and distributes/publishes various content pieces that promote the organization, as well as individuals or groups within the organization.

Selects positive publicity materials and distributes them through a variety of channels.

Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties; when needed, recruits a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist.

Plans, coordinates, and executes special events and press conferences.

Develops and maintains a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication.

Writes, reviews, and/or distributes press releases and other public-facing communication.

Responds to information requests from media contacts.

Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government employees, and public interest groups.

Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image.

Performs other duties as assigned.
