Communications Coordinator

Responsibilities
Report to the senior marketing manager as a member of the corporate marketing team
Contribute creativity, strategy, and innovation to overall communications goals
Write and edit articles, ads, emails, texts, award submittals, and more
Craft press releases and media alerts to promote company news
Build relationships with media members and attend relevant industry events
Stay abreast of media trends and research best practices for communications
Support internal and external email and text campaigns
Maintain and regularly update internal and external distribution lists
Interview internal stakeholders to help create content for campaigns
Source, track, and submit company awards and ranking lists
Support social media specialists in the creation of social content
Work with the marketing leadership team to create and promote thought leadership content
Ensure content is aligned with editorial style and brand guidelines
Track and measure communication analytics, develop reports, and optimize activity
Collaborate with outside agencies on campaigns and special projects
And, of course, “other duties as assigned”

Required
Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, advertising, or marketing
Three or more years of experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all organizational levels
Proven work experience in using necessary technology
Ability to develop communication strategies for multiple brands while maintaining each brand's voice
Adaptability to emerging trends
Knowledge of best practices for scheduling communications across different channels
Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
Experience in communications and public relations strategy and tactics
Exceptional writing and proofreading skills
Solid research skills and ability to access information online
Effective relationship-building skills
Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Knowledge of the A/E/C industry
Knowledge of civil construction
Familiarity with Mailchimp and Cision
Understanding of SEO
Proficiency in Spanish (writing or quality control)
