Responsibilities

Work closely with project teams and departments to understand a group’s objectives or initiatives and how they impact the organization, then determine how communications planning can be used to connect employees and other stakeholders with the group or initiative.

Challenge and inspire teams to think differently about how strategic communications can further their plans.

Collaborate with internal teams to create and execute strategic and impactful communications plans.

Support team in understanding how audiences connect with initiatives through media and technology and how the proper partner, content, and sequencing can tell a holistic story.

Ensure communications plans and tactics are of the highest caliber.

Required

BS/BA degree with emphasis in Communications, Marketing or Journalism.

Minimum of seven years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field preferred.

Demonstrated understanding of and experience with communications strategy and content development strategy.

Strong writing and editing skills with a flair for storytelling; fluency in writing and preparing copy for a variety of communications channels.

Understanding of agricultural communications and agricultural advocacy.

Creative thinker, with a desire and ability to seek opportunities for continuous improvement

Versed in social media principles and practices.

Strong project management skills with the ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency.

Exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Experience using PC, layout and design software, spreadsheet, and other Office software.

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting.

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team.

Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job.

Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required.

Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
