Responsibilities
Review company, branch, and individual accounts via NMLS or Consumer Access site to determine additional documents, education, and/or education required in states where the applicant requests a license.
Communicate with clients when processing changes or submitting new filings within the NMLS system to ensure proper notification provided to remain compliant regarding system access to products offered, inputting of loans, marketing, etc.
Ensuring new applicants provide correct information according to that state’s specific or general requirements, including, but not limited to: proper registration directly through the state or 3rd party site for background processing; completion of education requirements for obtaining licensing; updating of company bond to show addition of licensee; information on prior or current bankruptcy, foreclosure, adverse reporting or criminal record filings are properly provided to the states for review, etc.
Utilizing 3rd party government sites and/or internal departments to obtain documentation needed to register and maintain company and branch licenses with the Secretary of State, county, and city offices.
Filing requests for foreign registration, ordering surety bonds, enrolling applicants in prelicense and continuing education requirements.
Coordinating with outside vendors to assist with scheduling of Continuing Education needed to maintain active license status and monitors NMLS to ensure state-specific requirements have been met and renewals are processed properly according to state guidelines.
Acquire new licenses for mortgage loan originators as requested by clients.
Coordinate with state regulators to provide necessary documentation and resolve deficiencies.
Review and identify licensing prerequisites on a state-by-state basis and update internal training as needed.

Required
Experience working within the mortgage industry preferred, and experience working in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System is needed.
Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, organization, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to strict deadlines.
Ability to work independently, balance multiple projects, and solve problems proactively.
A high school degree or GED is required.
Preferred
College coursework in business, accounting, finance, mathematics, and logic is preferred.
Training in paraprofessional work as a paralegal, clerk, or legal secretary will be given strong consideration but is not required.
