Responsibilities

Building and maintaining a robust, risk-based compliance monitoring and testing program
Enhancing compliance oversight by working with the first line of defense to develop appropriate reviews and controls
Managing the issues management process ensuring the effective tracking, escalating, and resolution of compliance issues
Ensuring accurate root cause analyses and corrective actions are taken if/when deficiencies are identified
Assisting in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and processes to ensure the company’s continued regulatory compliance across all business units
Acting as an advisor to the business teams, providing compliance advice on projects and new product development to ensure compliance with applicable state and Federal laws and regulations
Preparing timely and relevant reports for various constituencies, gathering information from various business units with respect to compliance metrics and KPIs.
Supporting the Company’s compliance with all applicable consumer financial protection laws and regulations
Participating in enhancement of compliance training, including the development of new content as appropriate
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders
Maintaining current knowledge of regulatory changes, trends in the industry, and regulator expectations and partnering with senior management to maintain and improve the Company’s strong compliance management system
Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned team, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Raising risk concerns about any practice(s) believed to be a violation of, or inconsistent with, company policies, procedures or other directives, or in violation of legal or regulatory requirements

Required

Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university
5 to 10 years of leadership experience in banking, consumer financial services, regulatory, or other consumer financial compliance related field with an emphasis on compliance management systems, compliance monitoring and testing and issues management
Consumer financial services compliance subject matter expert with demonstrated experience with consumer financial protection laws and regulations including, by way of example, TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA/Regulation V, FDCPA, BSA/AML, EFTA/Regulation E, UDAAP, GLBA, MLA
Skilled in working in a fast-paced, creative and entrepreneurial team environment. Must have sharp problem-solving skills, business acumen, strong analytical skills, and a high attention to detail
Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to adjust communication across different organizational levels and functional groups
Experience as examination subject, or an employee, with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or other regulatory body
Comfortable with balancing multiple competing and shifting priorities, including changes in scope or direction.
Self-starter with the ability to think independently, take ownership and accept accountability to drive initiatives to resolution while reporting appropriately and consistently on progress and issues encountered.
Possess a proven record of professional excellence, collaborative attitude, and efficient achievement
