Responsibilities
Be in charge and responsible for products’ safety and compliance in the North American market.
Advise the manufacturer and US business on product safety and compliance issues, development, and new standards and requirements (mandatory, optional, regulatory, and industrial-based standards and requirements), and lead companies on improving product safety and compliance.
Review and assess products, identify potential safety and compliance issues, and provide solutions to improve product safety and companies’ compliance.
Develop and implement an internal Product Safety Compliance Program.
Partner with appropriate internal stakeholders (e.g. design/QC/QA/customer services/legal) to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions when compliance deficiencies or weaknesses or potential product safety concerns are identified.
Partner with suppliers on certification and testing to ensure products, parts, and accessories (to the extent applicable) compliance with any applicable certification standard and requirement.
Partner with appropriate departments to address product safety matters that companies may encounter from their routine business operation.
Partner with cross-functional teams, external experts, and industry groups to comply with mandatory safety standards, and develop internal company policy to optimize the safety, performance, and consumer experience using our products.
Participate in post-sale surveillance related to product safety.
Lead the potential corrective actions and recall processes.
Receive and analyze reports of potential product safety matters from all sources, whether internal or external, to the company.
Provide training to employees and suppliers on product safety compliance to help ensure compliance with relevant product safety laws and regulations.
Maintain all product safety and compliance records.
Ensure the Product Safety Committee convenes on a regular and as-needed basis.
Ensure the senior management of the company’s involvement in product safety-related matters.

Required
Experience in product safety compliance is required.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in safety, project management, engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years of vehicle-level product safety compliance experience.
Experience working in a multi-national company within an international team.
Extensive experience in assessing product safety compliance risk, obtaining vehicle certification, conducting vehicle testing, maintaining self-certification files, and resolving complex vehicle compliance challenges.
Strong communication skills in a global setting.
Able to plan and handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred
Experience in an automobile or off-the-road vehicle industry will be a plus.
