Responsibilities
Develop expertise in Air Force (AF) and Space Force (SF) information operations.
Apply sound technical solutions to AF & SF challenges.
Provide engineering support to RIED programs and research areas.
Assist in technical design and data analysis for various RIED projects.
Execute a variety of developmental duties designed to develop knowledge and skill in applying general computer science, methods and techniques.
Performing computer science tasks of limited scope and difficulty.
Foster collaboration with industry and government partners.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to maintain current in the field.
Use computers/computer software such as analysis tools and project tracking programs to solve software development problems and facilitate work.

The ability to obtain and maintain the required Secret security clearance

This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position that requires Practitioner Level certification in Engineering & Technology Management (ETM). The selectee will have two years to meet ADPD requirements.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DR-I, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Specialized Experience is experience directly related to the position that was performed at a level equivalent to the grade directly below the position.
Preferred
A Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science is desirable.
Demonstrate the ability to work both as part of a team and independently in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, assess situations, and make informed judgments.
Professional knowledge of the theoretical foundations of computer science, including digital computer systems architecture and systems software organization.
Professional knowledge of computer science and related disciplines to design, develop and adapt scientific methods and techniques to recommend solutions for computer problems.
The ability to analyze, interpret and apply computer science procedures in a variety of situations and recommend effective solutions to senior scientists.
