Responsibilities
This position serves on a the Outpatient Behavioral Health Contracting Team.
The person in this position will need to be independent, self-motivated, and a quick learner.
The person will need to have past experience performing behavioral health or medical or ancillary provider contracting on behalf of a health plan to be successful in this position.
Be able to focus clearly on tasks and stay focused on work.
Work includes reviewing provider applications for completeness and ensuring all documents that are supposed to accompany application are current and complete and accurate; issue amendments to provider agreements with updated fee schedules; add line of business for providers; review email inbox and triage requests and put them into correct folders.
Prior experience working for a health plan issuing provider contracts and amendments
Past successful experience recruiting providers for a health plan network and obtaining applications and fully executed contracts BEFORE deadlines, and providing status updates on progress daily in a coherent, organized manner
Prior experience working for a health plan working as provider contract assistant, provider relations representative, or similar position (responsible for developing, negotiating, and obtaining fully executed agreements with providers, groups, facilities, agencies)
Work hours 8 am to 5 pm Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday
Ability to follow directions and engage in follow-through promptly
Ability to deal with multiple, competing work requests, and multiple, changing priorities while remaining on-task and completing work deadlines on-time
Must NOT have distractions during hours that impede ability to perform contract work
Must live in Pacific Standard Time Zone, such as California, Washington, Oregon
Minimum of high school diploma; 1 to 2 years working for health plan in provider contracting and/or provider relations.
Most important is background with Providers on Health Plan / Provider Relations / Contracting for a big health plan reviewing provider applications and coordinating with the other Network Contractors
