Control System (OT) Site Engineer Specialist with OSI PI knowledge

Responsibilities
Develop and program PLCs, SCADA systems, and DCS for various industrial processes.
Integrate control systems with industrial data historians for data collection and analysis.
Ensure seamless integration of control systems with existing OT infrastructure.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to control systems to ensure optimal performance.
Configure and manage industrial networks to support control systems, ensuring secure and reliable communication.
Work with IT/OT teams to maintain network integrity and security.
Utilize data historian tools for data collection, storage, and analysis.
Develop data visualization and reporting tools to support operational decision
Interface with operational technology (OT) systems including SCADA, PLCs, and DCS.
Ensure seamless integration and data flow between control systems and the Aveva PI System.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and data integration.
Install, configure, and upgrade Aveva PI System components, including PI Interfaces and Connectors.
Set up and maintain PI data archives, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection from various sources.
Configure and manage PI Interfaces such as PI OPC DA, PI OPC HDA, PI to PI, UFL, and RDBMS.
Implement and support PI Connectors including PI Connector for UFL, PI Connector for OPC UA Gen 1 & Gen 2, and SeeQ.
Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to the PI System and its components.
Conduct training sessions and develop documentation to enhance user knowledge and system utilization.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data management, control systems, and analytics.
Identify opportunities to enhance the PI System’s capabilities and performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate the installation of PI interface software, configuration of PI interface, establishment of connectivity with underlying OT and enterprise PI server at each site.
Coordinate the addition and configuration of data tags, optimization of system settings such as exception and compression, and setup of PI system backups at each site.
Coordinate the building of PI AF using template approach and creation of PI Vision displays for each site, based on the scope and requirements.
Coordinate the recommendation and development of PI Vision screen for PI system monitoring for each site and enterprise PI server.
Conduct site survey and data collection activities for the first 2 to 3 sites and follow a virtual process for the remaining sites with the help of Ecolab site teams.
Prepare and update PI system deployment documentation and provide feedback to Ecolab.
Provide post-implementation support and hyper care for each site to ensure system stability and performance.
Communicate with Ecolab site teams, system integrator, and enterprise PI team to ensure the project is delivered according to the schedule and prerequisites.
Follow Ecolab's standards, policies, and best practices for PI system deployment and maintenance.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Automation, Control Systems, or a related field.
Control systems experience, preferably in the industrial sector.
Knowledge of AVEVA PI system, including PI interfaces, PI servers, PI AF, PI Vision, and PI system monitoring.
Experience in working with different control systems, such as Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, Wonderware, etc.
Experience in connecting PI systems to cloud platforms, such as AVEVA PI enterprise historian, SeeQ, Azure AI/ML, etc.
Experience in data collection, visualization, documentation, and feedback activities.
Strong coordination, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and co-ordinate with offshore teams based out of India and Italy.
Ability to travel to different sites as required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering with a focus on OT.
Proven experience with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and industrial data historians.
Experience with OSI PI or similar data historian tools is highly desirable.
Experience with Rockwell automation, Siemens, Emerson DCS and Ignition.
Proficient in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
Strong understanding of SCADA and DCS architecture and programming.
Knowledge of data historian systems, particularly OSI PI development and implementation.
Experience with network configuration, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, and other industrial communication protocols.
Preferred
A master’s degree is a plus.
Certification in AVEVA PI system is a plus.
Knowledge Aveva PI System or similar industrial data management systems will be an added advantage.
