Responsibilities
Onboard new clients and manage existing clients effectively, successfully and timely
Effectively architect a plan for new client clean-up and business as usual
Proactively identify opportunities for efficiencies and controls for client size and stage, and propose and implement process improvements.
Identify and recommend scope increases within existing clients
Network and seek out new client opportunities for POMteam
Regular sounding board for the team and client
AP/AR oversight
Manage cash flow on a regular basis
Oversee organization of data room
Document and continuously improve processes & procedures as appropriate
Oversee a timely close process
Review Balance Sheet reconciliations
Review P&L trends to ensure revenue and expenses are accounted for accurately
Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and deliverables for internal and/or investor use
Communicate results in accordance with client expectations
Work cross-functionally with the organization to support ad-hoc requests
Maintain thoughtful, timely and proactive communication with the clients and team
Manage accounting inboxes, responding to escalated inquiries where needed

Train and manage POMteam support staff. Ensure the team is staying on track and meeting deadlines.
Income tax and sales tax support with external partners
Ensure successful and timely completion of year-end 1099 forms
Oversee other compliance such as business insurance, state registrations & licensings
Oversee payroll and HR administration

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, and/or Finance
3-5 years of relevant Controller level experience
Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
Experience in Quickbooks Online or a similar system
Advanced experience in Excel (embedded vlookups, subtotals vs. sum)
High comfort level in working with many different cloud-based technology tools
Experience working with start-ups required
Experience with inventory accounting required
Ability to work efficiently and be engaged in a remote environment
Ability to plan ahead and anticipate personal, client, and team's needs
Can balance multiple priorities, multiple clients and span between strategic and tactical initiatives
Experience 'managing up' and managing a team of direct reports
Ability to work efficiently in a remote environment
Work during client business hours
Excellent communication skills and business acumen
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
CPA and/or MBA is a plus
Experience in eCommerce highly preferred
