Responsibilities
Conduct research on institutional and, when needed, individual donors, to identify funding opportunities (e.g., requests for proposals).
Compose and disseminate internal documents such as funding opportunity summaries and donor profiles to inform engagement strategies for prospective donors to Panthera.
Build and maintain a deep understanding of Panthera’s programs to effectively identify and qualify potential donors.
Oversee and streamline workflows for donor prospecting between Program and Business Development teams.
Implement prospect research and management procedures, and develop and maintain a system for tracking prospective funders in coordination with fundraising staff.
Handle sensitive donor information with a high level of integrity and confidentiality at all times.

Required
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of successful prospect research experience; prior experience in prospect research for environmental nonprofits strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Salesforce and research tools/platforms (e.g., Foundation Directory, The Chronicle of Philanthropy, Grants.gov, etc.); familiarity with Microsoft Teams a plus.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse, global teams.
Excellent writing, planning, and project management skills.
Preferred
Prior experience in prospect research for environmental nonprofits strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams a plus.
