Responsibilities

Responsible for Environmental compliance support activities under the direction of the Corporate Environmental Manager to ensure safe operation of facilities and equipment.

Provide support to empower employees and contractors in the development of Environmental programs and compliance obligations.

Develop, promote, and provide active support for the Environmental Management System, sharing best practices and domain expertise.

Understand Environmental Risks and provide guidance to mitigate risks throughout processes and products.

Communicate performance progress against goals and objectives to Corporate EHSS Team and beyond.

Build relationships to foster cultural growth, educational knowledge sharing, and empowerment.

Deliver expertise across all Environmental processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

Advise and implement compliance tools, provide updates on Environmental Management System changes, and develop reports for compliance tracking.

Provide coaching, training, and learning experiences to improve Environmental performance and compliance.

Stay updated on changes to Environmental programs, liaise with regulating authorities, and facilitate Environmental governance programs.

Prepare Environmental reports for executive discussions, lead Environmental Management System Assessments, and analyze compliance needs and incidents.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required

A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering or other related technical fields

10+ years of experience within a process-manufacturing environment including leading Environmental teams/ programs

Experience with air permitting and implementation of air permits (including Title V Air permits)

Experience with RCRA waste regulations, CERCLA. EPCRA (including TRI and Tier II reporting)

Experience with change management resulting in reduction of Environmental incidents, a positive compliance culture and leadership/employee involvement in the compliance processes

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (standard work, 5S, Kaizen and Gemba)

Extensive experience with implementation and use of Environmental Digital tools (Gensuite, SAP, etc.)

People driven compliance objectives, excellent analytical, project management, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, excellent report creator

Generating effective presentation consisting of local compliance results and/or analytical findings

Must be able to lead by influence, collaborate across business units, and up and down the organizational hierarchy

Strong root cause investigation techniques

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Proven analytical and organizational ability

Ability to travel within North America up to 50%, as needed
