Responsibilities
Couchbase Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Couchbase clusters across environments.
Monitor and optimize Couchbase performance, identifying and resolving issues related to latency, throughput, and scaling.
Perform upgrades, patches, and backups to ensure database availability and reliability.
Set up and maintain XDCR (Cross Data Center Replication) for disaster recovery.
Azure Integration:
Deploy and manage Couchbase in Azure Cloud environments using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Virtual Machines.
Collaborate with Azure infrastructure teams to optimize Couchbase for scalability and cost-efficiency.
Implement Azure-specific Couchbase features, such as Azure Blob Storage integration for backups.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure data security by configuring RBAC, SSL, and encryption at rest/in transit.
Conduct regular audits and implement measures to comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Monitoring & Automation:
Leverage monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Couchbase Console) to track cluster health and performance metrics.
Develop scripts or automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Azure DevOps to streamline deployments and updates.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve database issues, including query performance and system bottlenecks.
Provide Level 2/3 support for Couchbase-related incidents.
Collaboration:
Work closely with application development teams to design scalable database architectures.
Partner with DevOps and SRE teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines for database services.

Required
Expertise in Couchbase installation, configuration, and management in production environments.
Proficiency in managing Couchbase clusters in Azure Cloud.
Experience with Couchbase Query Language (N1QL) and indexing strategies.
Strong understanding of Azure services, including Virtual Machines, AKS, Azure DevOps, and Networking.
Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Experience with JSON document modeling and schema design for NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of other NoSQL or RDBMS systems (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
