Responsibilities
Conduct reviews of large complex credit unions by planning and performing supervision and examination activities to fulfill program objectives associated with agricultural lending, member business lending, commercial lending, real estate lending and other complex lending programs.
Reviews credit unions' lending operations to determine areas of highest risk and lending violations such as improper information gathering or inadequate record retention.
Serve as primary problem solver in credit unions identified as having operational management and/or financial difficulties due to lending practices.
Serve as an expert to staff during examinations or reviews of credit unions and credit union service organizations (CUSOs) with complex lending programs including complex member business loan waiver requests as needed.
Reviews loan programs for compliance with applicable NCUA Rules and Regulations, other lending regulatory or guidance issuances, and safe and sound business practices.
Collaborate with other National Lending Specialists, other ONES staff and specialists, with the Division of Quantitative and Analytics, and ONES management to identify improvements in NCUA's loan program risk management tools, systems, or processes.
Keep abreast of changes in the financial markets where they could pose potential concerns to credit union lending programs.
