Responsibilities
Design and implement network control mechanisms such as firewalls to control users' access to computer networks.
Implement application access control to prevent unauthorized users from accessing computer systems.
Conduct security scans on network systems, application systems, and other computer equipment.
Develop and implement risk management, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery plans.
Identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to internal IT systems and networks.
Manage and configure servers, firewalls, routers, and other network devices to optimize performance.
Install and maintain software applications, patches, and updates as required.
Monitor network for unauthorized activities and respond to crises or urgent situations to mitigate threats.
Provide incident response support to State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial organizations within the state.
Conduct Defensive Cyberspace operations to support mission requirements as directed.

Required
Experience working with network security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
Experience troubleshooting complex security issues and devise effective solutions to enhance network security and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Experience in configuring, managing, and maintaining network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and IDS/IPS.
Experience in designing and implementing network architectures, including LANs, WANs, VPNs and VLANs.
Experience with verbal and written communication skills to explain technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related IT related field or closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in IT Security.
Associates degree in computer science or a related IT related field or closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in IT Security.
Per 5 CFR 731, upon appointment, applicant must be able to obtain a favorable suitability and fitness determination from a Tier 1 background investigation conducted by the Office of Personnel Management.
IAW AR 380-67, Chapter 3-54, Table 3-1, this position is designated as ADP-I and therefore requires a BI/SBI background investigation.
