Responsibilities
Translates data into business insights, essentially converting numbers into stories that can guide business decisions.
Demonstrates a passion for understanding the 'what and whys' of data.
Works in a collaborative environment with various project teams to support DHS - TSA analytics and data visualizations.
Provides various areas of data governance and data hygiene to ensure data accuracy.
Provides advice, assistance and written recommendations based on data analysis and results to inform client decisions.
Communicates with the PowerBI and data team members to provide accurate analytics and reports for clients.
Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of reports and data requests.
Required to develop a broad understanding of data sets available.
Assists with the development implementation, and maintenance of good and accurate data flowing from User inputs to reporting outputs.
Develops and maintains quality control standard and data reconciliation techniques for internal and external reporting.
Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
Understands current state processes and recommends improvements to make programs and processes more efficient and effective.
Understands client needs and pain points to recommend requirements in DHS data systems.
Promotes compliance with agreed data governance principles, and where necessary, takes action to respond to improper activities in relation to secondary use of data.
Analyzes data from relational databases and understand data structures.
Explains and documents complex methodologies in plain language.
Liaisons with the technical development team by articulating operational and mission needs.

Required
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience
Skillset: SQL, PowerBI, R, descriptive statistics, data visualization, problem-solving, product intuition, stakeholder management
Excellent analytical and presentation skills
Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 Vaccination or have accommodation documents completed by the date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination is required
Preferred
Passionate about data analytics with a willingness to dig deep into the data to scrutinize and validate results, and then take a step back to present the data in customer-friendly terms to help clients make decisions
Eager to work closely with clients to assess best data sources while also having the patience and poise to work through government hurdles to aggregate data from disparate systems into a single source
Aptitude and willingness to work to become a trusted advisor to clients who share in your passion for all things data
Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment
Excellent communications skills, including verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation
Well-organized with a track record of producing high-quality deliverables on time
Ability to present findings to the client and Dignari project team
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
