Responsibilities

Contributing to ongoing projects.
Conducting rigorous data analyses of our 379 coastal cities, including analyzing and mapping local climate risks, municipal climate funding, rates of sea level rise, and more.
Designing visualizations to share key data and distill our policy recommendations.
Supporting the management of our website and open-access resource hub.
Maintaining outreach lists, as well as our donor database.
Contribute to editing our policy publications.

Required

Resourceful and solution-oriented graduate students, recent graduates of advanced degree programs, or early career professionals.
Enjoy collaboration and take initiative.
Comfortable working independently.
Skilled at balancing and executing competing priorities.
Connections to coastal cities.
Interest or experience in public policy.
Experience analyzing climate data and developing supporting graphics and visualizations.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong writing, research, and communications skills.
Proficient in or easily adapt to using Google Workspace and Airtable.
Independently designing analyses and working with multiple sources to understand localized climate impacts.
Using mapping softwares such as ArcGIS, ArcMap, QGIS, and CARTO.
Using data visualization tools like Datawrapper and Observable.
Comfort using graphic design software, including Figma, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Attend meetings, engage with stakeholders, and provide individual expertise towards projects.

Preferred

Coastal city experience
Experience working on coastal resiliency and nature-based solutions, urban planning and policy, city land use, or zoning.
Experience analyzing, researching, developing, or implementing climate action plans and/or ocean policy.
Experience developing communications assets that distill complex climate data and policy into easy to digest visualizations.
Experience working with or for community based organizations, or with frontline communities.
