Responsibilities
Support rapid and effective decision-making
Improve efficiency and care transitions
Foster information sharing across the continuum of care
Make knowledge and data actionable, leading to improved patient outcomes
Assist in the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and workflows to support Ascension’s cloud data initiatives
Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to implement data engineering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Ensure the efficient integration of diverse data sources
Focus on developing ETL/ELT workflows, containerized deployments, and CI/CD pipelines while emphasizing collaboration, learning, and adherence to security best practices
Contribute to Agile processes, helping to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions that provide measurable value to customers

Required
3-4 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.
Hands-on experience with Python and SQL for data processing and querying.
Experience with GCP cloud platforms, including tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, and Composer.
Basic understanding of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Experience with CI/CD workflows and automation tools like Jenkins.
Strong analytical skills to interpret and process large datasets.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Cloud Monitoring or Datadog.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Preferred
Technology certifications preferred.
Bachelor's in computer engineering or equivalent field or equivalent foreign degree preferred.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups and sprint planning.
Collaborate with senior engineers to solve technical challenges.
Deliver tasks on time and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Follow security and compliance policies strictly.
Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in learning new tools and techniques.
Exposure to Terraform or Deployment Manager for managing cloud infrastructure.
Knowledge of working with file formats like Avro, Parquet, and JSON.
Basic familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer.
Experience with version control platforms such as GitHub and Agile collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
