Responsibilities

Designs, develops and maintains data pipelines within the Guidewire insurance platform, specifically utilizing the Guidewire DataHub/InfoCenter data visualization tools, to Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data for analysis and reporting purposes.
Monitors and troubleshoots issues related to Guidewire DataHub/InfoCenter, and optimizes performance for data loading and extraction processes.
Designs and develops complex data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and decision support systems’ data procedures.
Implements data solutions to make high-quality data available for analytics and reporting.
Collaborates with data analysts, architects, engineers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Ensures data quality and consistency by implementing data cleansing and validation processes, identifying and resolving data issues, and creating data reconciliations.
Optimizes data workflows and processing for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Monitors data pipelines and proactively addresses issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Works with stakeholders to provide assistance for data-related technical issues.
Documents data engineering processes, data lineage, and data dictionaries.
Stays current with data engineering technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
Creates, maintains and updates various knowledge articles such as Standard Operating Procedures, Knowledge Base Articles, FAQ, Design and Configuration documents.
Complies with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the Company.
Establishes and builds strong working relations and partnerships with Business Units and IT teams.
Performs special projects and other duties as may be assigned.
Assists in data governance, data quality and data cleansing efforts.
Contributes to disaster recovery and business continuity planning for data engineering.
Participates in data architecture and data warehouse design discussions.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data engineering and management.
Strong knowledge of SQL and SQL programming. SQL Server-specific knowledge preferred.
Proficient in Guidewire DataHub/InfoCenter 9.x and 10.x, including data mapping, data quality rules, and data transformation logic.
Extensive hands-on experience on SAP BODS ETL tools with design and administration.
Strong knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter/BillingCenter/ClaimCenter data models.
Strong SQL skills to query and manipulate data within the Guidewire environment.
Proficiency in data processes and knowledge of data models.
Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies and tools, including data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based solutions.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems, ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Proactive approach in staying updated on industry trends and emerging data technologies.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate).
Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills: able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions.
Strategic thinking: Applies organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Preferred

Knowledge of Informatica and Snowflake preferred.
Knowledge of P&C Insurance industry preferred.
