Responsibilities

Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards.

Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.

Maintain data dictionaries, data catalogs, and metadata management.

Collaborate with business units, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure data governance initiatives align with business objectives.

Promote data governance awareness and best practices across the organization.

Facilitate cross-functional team meetings to discuss and resolve data governance issues.

Identify data-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure data governance practices support data privacy and security requirements.

Document data governance processes, standards, and decisions.

Provide training and guidance on data governance to team members and stakeholders.

Develop and manage the relationships with Business Data Owners and Stewards.

Facilitate Governance Councils.

Partner with other Data & Analytics roles to ensure alignment to stewardship needs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

Typically 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or a related field

Experience working with domain structures, conceptual logic and physical

Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory requirements.

Solid experience working with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines in database warehousing and other relevant systems

Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Experience in a specific industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, HR) with relevant regulatory knowledge.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with data governance and quality tools and technologies.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results within deadlines

Preferred

Certification in data governance or data quality (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) a plus
