Responsibilities
Serve as a public health laboratory data and LIMS expert.
Simultaneously work on multiple projects with multiple clients to analyze order/result messaging capabilities.
Provide technical assistance and advise clients on implementing messaging solutions.
Identify and implement technical solutions to meet data exchange requirements.
Collaborate with project team members using tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, and Confluence.
Review laboratory workflows and recommend process improvements.
Support the design, documentation, and updates of local systems and processes.
Support the design, configuration, validation, and production phases of technical solutions.

Required
Significant experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS) such as StarLIMS, Natus, OpenELIS, or LabVantage.
Expertise in HL7 v2.x (ORM, OML, ORU, LOI, LRI, ADT messages).
Hands-on experience with integration engines like Rhapsody or Mirth (others are a plus).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., XPath, XQuery, JavaScript).
Familiarity with data transport protocols (e.g., AWS S3, SFTP, RESTful APIs).
Experience with system implementation projects in public health laboratories or healthcare organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in health informatics or public health data systems.
Laboratory information management systems: 5 years (Required)
HL7 v2.x: 5 years (Required)

Preferred
Experience with public health surveillance systems.
