Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases on Azure.

Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies.

Develop and maintain database backup and disaster recovery plans.

Ensure high availability and scalability of databases in a cloud environment.

Collaborate with application teams to design and implement efficient database solutions.

Monitor database health and resolve issues related to performance, security, and availability.

Conduct database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime.

Implement and enforce database security best practices.

Provide support for ETL processes, data integration, and reporting solutions.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

3+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration

Strong experience with SQL Server databases

Proficiency in Azure Cloud Services such as Azure SQL Database, Virtual Machines, and Blob Storage

Expertise in database tuning, indexing, and partitioning

Familiarity with automation tools and scripting for database management

Knowledge of data replication, clustering, and high-availability strategies

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Preferred

Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate)

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and orchestration

Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure DevOps)

Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights
