Responsibilities
Establish and perform administrator functions such as database management, user management, and storage management using Microsoft SQL Server
Monitor system's health and performance.
High Availability, Security, and Capacity Management
Create and manage database backup and restore procedures.
Daily, Weekly and Monthly maintenance
Installations / Upgrades / Patching
Manage disk space on each drive on all servers and automate alerts.
Monitor SQL Server logs and Windows logs for any Network related or I/O related issues.
Create automation for repeating database tasks.
Assist in developing purge/archive criteria and procedures for historical data.
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems

Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
7-10 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
Experience with Windows and Linux environments
Extensive experience with database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL)
Must have good analytical skills for problem resolution and expert skill level executing SQL Server high-availability technologies (replication, mirroring, failover clusters, log shipping etc.)
