Responsibilities

Write Technical reports documenting database activity, functionality, performance, and data governance.
Write Business intelligence reports to extract and analyze data for business decision-making.
Write Ad-hoc reports on-demand to address specific needs.
Create stable, reliable, and effective databases.
Adjust database configuration, query design, and indexing for performance optimization.
Develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views using T-SQL.
Write and maintain complex SQL queries.
Develop and maintain a Data Dictionary.
Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
Assist the DBA in monitoring database health.

Required

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Mastery of T-SQL
Good communication skills to write clear and concise reports.
Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot database, report, and dashboard issues independently.
Ability to work extended hours when needed.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Insurance Industry or Benefits Administration Industry terminology and business processes preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or mathematics related field
Minimum 6 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database programming, database design, data warehouse design, query performance tuning, writing stored procedures, etc.
Minimum of 6 years of experience on Microsoft BI tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
Minimum 3 years of experience with Power BI desktop, Report Builder, and Microsoft Visual Studio
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting multi-database environments
Minimum 2 years of experience with AZURE DevOps, git, Python

Preferred

Database administration skills – Job monitoring, Backup/restore, security management, etc.
Experience developing ETL processes loading Data Warehouses/Data Marts
Insurance Industry or Benefits Administration Industry experience
