Responsibilities

Ensure Maryland's system of safety, permanence, and well-being for children and families is responsive to client needs and consistent across jurisdictions.
Oversee the entire continuum of child welfare programming including Prevention, Child Safety, Family Preservation, Out-of-Home Care, Well-Being and Clinical Services, and ICPC/ICMA.
Provide direct supervision to the Director of Prevention and Safety, Director of Out-of-Home Care, and the Director of Well-Being and Clinical Services.

Required

Possession of a Graduate-level degree in a human service or public administration
Seven years of leadership experience in a public, private, or non-profit human service field, 5 years of which must have been in a program management or supervisory capacity

Preferred

Expert knowledge of departmental and agency principles, practices, and issues as well as organizational structure, staffing patterns, and administrative controls to effectively supervise and monitor projects and initiatives
Knowledge of current child welfare literature, community organizations, needs of families and children, and of current techniques and resources to treat social problems
A collaborative leadership style that engages others, earns trust and influences the entire organization
Experience leading large-scale transformations that involve multiple stakeholders and constituencies
Experience working effectively and collaboratively with senior government, community, and/or private sector leaders
Experience project-managing complex initiatives from design to their completion
A track record of delivering significant innovation results and impact in the public, nonprofit, or private sector
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Expert knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Smartsheet, and other relevant project management tools
