Responsibilities

Designing and engineering Network and Managed Service equipment

Creating documentation (Project Manuscript) which contains Bill of Materials and all documentation required for Network Operations to install and turn up services for customer request

Designing TDM and Ethernet connectivity across the Segra network for data and voice services

Assist in resource inventory clean-up

Utilize a WFM workflow database to track circuit/service orders and update the order status in the database

Work closely and collaborate with all internal departments as applicable

Required

Must have prior Telecommunications experience

Must have 3 years of experience in either network engineering or network design

Preferred

4yr Technical College Degree or equivalent preferred.

3 years related telecom experience or a combined 7 yrs. of education and related experience.

Individual must understand Ethernet Ring topology and Managed Service Solutions.

Six years of telecommunication or technical certification.

Good proficiency with MS Office product suite applications to include, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Additional proficiency with Access and Visio is helpful.

Proficient skills with telecommunications, inventory management systems, AutoSketch, CAD, software map tools, reading schematics, and blueprints or wiring diagrams.

Proficient level in understanding Network.

Proficient level in understanding service ordering process including installation and delivery.

Proficient level in design and design technologies.

Ability to perform all functions within Design Engineering, including, but not limited to project manuscript creation, equipment builds and DLR creation.

Ability to access network devices and demonstrate a proficient understanding of configurations.

Good analytical and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to utilize a computer keyboard and monitor for extended periods of time.

Must be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to multi task effectively.

Must have effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with team members.

Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed, in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.

Must be analytical and have proven problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently on 90% of projects assigned. Take ownership of projects and communicate progress to leadership.
