Responsibilities

Develop and implement fund-raising strategies and activities for institutional prospects at the highest levels.
Represent Mayo in the global market place to qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward principal gifts prospects.
Align benefactor interests with the strategic objectives of the institution.
Manage a portfolio of approximately 125 prospective principal benefactors.
Partner with the Chair-Development, Department Chair and institutional leaders to develop and implement strategies for gifts of $5,000,000 and above.
Adhere to the 'Donor Bill of Rights' and ethical standards set forth for the department and the institution.
Build and nurture effective working relationships with institutional leaders, medical faculty, administration, staff and volunteers in coordinating donor cultivation and recognition.
Keep abreast of clinical, research, education and administrative initiatives across Mayo Clinic.
Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure proper documentation, acknowledgment and recognition for principal giving.
Collaborate with Corporation and Foundation Relations colleagues to pursue institutional donors and with the Office of Gift Planned to encourage planned gifts.
Serve as an effective spokesperson and representative for Mayo Clinic and its strategic funding priorities.
Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and support of the departmental mission, values and best fundraising practices.
